Haircut 100 Come Together For Christmas Concert.

From nickheyward.com: "Haircut 100 are now back together again and we play our first concert this Christmas at The Cadogan Hall in London. I will be playing songs from all the solo albums and new material beforehand to warm you all up and get you all in the mood."

Nick Heyward will join former bandmates Graham Jones, Les Nemes, and Blair Cunningham on Dec. 18 for An Evening of Christmas Presence.

Cadogan Hall Programme: Nick Heyward and his band Haircut One Hundred were one of the most innovative bands of the Eighties. Their sunshine Pop fused with funk led a whole legion of fans to jump on their funfilled band wagon to experience the delights of a world filled with Lemon Firebrigades, Favourite Shirts and the delicious possibility of Boy Meets Girl.

Their album Pelican West is a gem of innocent Pop wonder and much loved treasure of many a forty something teenager. Fine memories of HC100 tours are to some the equivalent of the Charlie and the Chocolate factory golden ticket.

Pop Troubadour Heyward went on to a fine solo career starting with the breezy North of a Miracle (1983) album that spawned four hit singles including "Blue Hat For A Blue Day" through to other solo projects Postcards from Home (1986) and I Love you Avenue (1988).

The Nineties for Nick included From Monday to Sunday (1993) and Tangled (1995) both through Sony and The Apple Bed (1998) on Creation. Nick continues writing and will soon release an album of new material. Favourite Songs: The Best of Nick Heyward and Haircut One Hundred is currently available. Nick and Haircut 100 will reunite for this concert in the intimate setting of Cadogan Hall - a Christmas treat.

Happy 25th Birthday Pelican West.

Of Haircut 100's debut album, thefirstpost.co.uk says:

"The 1980's produced lots of radically different bands that today get lumped into one single genre - 'the 80s.' Yet no one sounded like Haircut 100 then, and nobody comes close now. It's a fantastically daft album, with (lead singer) Nick Heyward summoning up a sunny suburban world of indecipherable nicknames and slang where the only item on the news agenda is boy meets girl, girl smiles. The music is light and funky, peppered with excellent saxophone breaks, choppy guitar and Heyward's occasional yelps."

"The album gave you a lot of what it was to be a New Wave fan. It came during an innocent time, and musically, the best time ever."

Haircut 100 reunited in 2004 for an episode of VH1's Bands Reunited.

Happy 45th Birthday Nick Heyward.

Born in Beckenham, Kent, England in 1961, Nick was the lead man for Haircut 100 for only one album, Pelican West. Pelican West delivered beloved Waist High favorites "Love Plus One," and "Favorite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl)." Both songs reached the UK top 10 in 1982. "The album gave you a lot of what it was to be a New Wave fan. It came during an innocent time, and musically, the best time ever." (Lou via amazon.com)

Nick left the band for a solo career at the end of 1982, and his debut solo album North of a Miracle, which included "Whistle Down the Wind," was released in 1983.

According to icebergradio.com, it was "a solid effort that won critical approval and sold well."

"In 2004, all of the group's ex-members reunited for an episode of VH1's Bands Reunited series. The group has seriously discussed the idea of reuniting to record a new album, with Heyward being quoted as saying, 'We're all older and have commitments but wouldn't it be good to dedicate two weeks of our lives to creating a follow-up to Pelican West. It would have that magic because nobody as a player has gone off the boil.'"
