Happy Birthday Afrika Bambaataa.

"One of the most influential DJ's of the 70's and 80's," (audiogalaxy.com) the former Kevin Donovan has been credited with bringing the "talking-in-rhymes" (furious.com) style of music to the world, and "being the creator of electro-funk music, the precursor to modern day forms of electronic music such as house, jungle, and techno."

Bambaataa is "recognized as being one of the pioneers of Hip Hop deejaying. His incredibly diverse and large record collection earned him the name 'The Master of Records' and even to this day, his eclectic music selection makes the crowds at the parties go nuts. Who else but Bambaataa would play 'The Pink Panther' theme song, James Brown's 'Funky Drummer,' and Kraftwerk's 'Trans-Europe Express' all in the same night?"

1984's "World Destruction" by Time Zone, (a.k.a. Afrika Bambaataa and John Lydon) was the first hip-hop/electro/punk/heavy metal single (eye.net).
