Portland School Traffic Patrols: 883 Tickets In One Day

PORTLAND -- A driver was cited twice for speeding in two Portland school zones in the same day. Police are looking for speeders in school zones, because it's the first week of classes and children are out in numbers. On Wednesday, the "Back to School Traffic Mission" resulted in 883 citations, 43 warnings and 16 vehicles towed.

The 32-year-old who was cited twice was first busted at 1:20 p.m. For speeding near a school in Southwest Portland, then again at 2:30 in another school zone on Northeast Killingsworth.
