(brownandwilliamson.com) Kool's were the "first nationally distributed menthol cigarette" with Kool King's launched in 1954, filtered launched in 1956, 100's in 1967, lights in 1977, and ultra lights in 1981. (Side note: It was a pack of Kool Filter King's that Waist High once saw as the object of dispute in a television lawsuit.)

Viceroy came on the market in 1936. They were the first cigarette to "feature the cellulose acetate filter-now an industry standard." It wasn't until 2000 that Viceroy menthol was made available.

Tareyton's became available in 1913 and cost "25 cents for 20."
