Estonia Just Can't Get Enough.

"When Depeche Mode christened their comeback opus, Sounds Of The Universe, we're going to stick our necks out and suggest they weren't referring to the noise emanating from two underground bars in the far-flung former USSR."

One of the "strangest hat tips to the band's legacy" are the
DM Baars in the Estonian capital city of Tallinn, "a pair of subterranean drinking holes-slash-clubs solely devoted to the output of Dave Gahan and co." Estonia is in the Baltic region of Northern Europe, and Tallinn is its largest city.

When asked the whys, owner Dan Buinenko said the bars allowed him to "fit two things into one - work and a hobby." The original Depeche Mode Baar opened in 1999 in Tallinn's Old Town, with the second opening in 2008 just down the street, "featuring a new design and a wider party room."
