Happy Birthday Paul King.

After Coventry ska revivalists the Reluctant Stereotypes broke up, lead singer Paul King chose a more commercial dance rock direction for his new band King, which he formed in 1983. The band King scored a major U.K. hit with "Love and Pride," taken from their 1984 debut Steps in Time, which also featured the Waist High favorite, "Won't You Hold My Hand Now."

After the 1985 follow up Bitter Sweet, King dissolved his band and embarked on a solo career that produced one album, 1987's Joy. He subsequently became a veejay for MTV.
