What Were You Doing In The Summer of 1984?

From This Week in Rock and Roll: It was this week in 1984 that Ray Parker Jr. had the top song with "Ghostbusters." Unfortunately, it sounded too much like Huey Lewis' "I Want a New Drug," and Parker had to pay up. Huey Lewis and the News continued with the hits and had their first number 1 a year later with "The Power of Love."

As I recall, it was this exact summer that this new thing came around. It was called beer and you would drink it in large amounts in dirt fields. Weird. Only in dirt fields.
